HackerEarth Job Description

  • Responsibilities:
    • Create problems around data structures, algorithms, maths across various difficulty levels.
    • Test problems created by other problem setters.
    • Review HackeEarth’s existing question bank for technical errors (if any) and ensure that they follow suitable guidelines.
    • Problem setting team at HackerEarth creates new questions for public/private hackathons/challenges and for our technical assessment product – HackerEarth Recruit
    • Respond to queries/suggestions/issues from candidates solving problems on HackerEarth platform.
    • Work closely with the tech doc team to remove context or grammar ambiguities from questions.
    • Add code stub (partial codes) to code editor of the problems which helps candidates to focus on writing the logic part for solving that particular problem rather than syntax.

    QUALIFICATIONS for HackerEarth Hiring Freshers

  • Excellent knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and maths.
  • Excellent profile on some of the online judges (HackerEarth, HackerRank, Codeforces, Codechef, SPOJ etc.)
  • Candidates with experience in creating or testing problems for online Judges will be preferred.

    • Work with problems of scale, employ technologies that are distributed in nature.
    • Take ownership of your work – keep a keen eye out for bugs that might arise, ardently resolve them; make feature additions to your product; or sometimes, when you’re feeling ambitious – rewrite the whole product from scratch
    • Document your contributions – at HackerEarth we promote consuming content and even more so – producing it. Write a new post on our engineering blog every time you roll something out.
    • Be versatile – Work on Django applications, micro-services, etc during the day; transform into that DevOps savior at night.
    • Get acclimatized to our tech stack, which is an ever-changing landscape. while True: unlearn() and relearn()

    QUALIFICATIONS for HackerEarth Hiring Freshers

  • Knowledge of development on a Linux system
  • Good understanding of server­ side MVC frameworks
  • Good in Python, with knowledge of at least one Python web framework, Django preferred
  • Strong understanding of building web applications and full product life-cycles.

    ·       Strong knowledge on Operating Systems, Computer Networks, and SQL.
